If you have ever used a web browser, you most likely have strong opinions as to which one is the best based primarily on which one you have used the most often. Typically, people’s opinions on matters such as that are based less on logical criteria, and are based far more on the browser that they have grown used to. However, there are some advantages to certain web browsers over others. One of the best that currently exists is Firefox, a freeware browser put out by Mozilla. It has been clocked at extremely high speeds, has a download manager built right in, and has one of the best popup blockers currently on the market — and considering that the market pays nothing for it, Firefox is also a pretty good deal.
Firefox is one of the most secure web browsers currently available. Not only do they frequently update the software with little tweaks to its security features, but it also features a popup blocker that keeps a lot of the unwanted junk from popping up and offering you illicit downloads (which are pretty much always viruses in disguise, anyway). Between all of those features, Firefox is favored by the people who want to be able to use their computers for a long time into the future. After all, viruses can smash even the toughest, fastest computers.
A couple of other reasons why Firefox is a great browser is its built in download manager, and the fact that you can open different websites in new tabs, instead of opening up an entirely new browser window and having to do a lot of clicking back and forth to manage multiple sites. With the download manager, you can monitor how long it will take for any given download to take based on its speed and current level of progress, and then verify the location you downloaded your file to afterward. And all of this is free, too.
